Legacy of the 52-Doored Heritage Home

Doors hold meaning — they symbolise power, welcome, and story. This is no ordinary tale but that of Yangang’s 52-Doored Heritage Home.

Hidden in the heart of Yangang lies a unique architectural and historical marvel. Built during the monarchy by a respected Khardar (royal scribe) under the Kazi rule, these grand house symbolised honour, influence, and deep community roots, once reserved only for kings. The Khardar, known for his vision and kindness, transformed the region by clearing forests, building homes, supporting farmers, and constructing temples — blurring the line between subject and sovereign.

Today, it stand as proud remnants of Yangang’s rich past, having withstood the test of time, including the 1990 earthquake. Locals continue to preserve them as living monuments to their ancestors’ legacy, hoping to attract tourism and support to safeguard this historic gem for generations to come.
